Graffiti removal testing in progresss
Courtney Murdock of AMT Laboratories evaluated products to remove graffiti from the Kendrick Mansion in Sheridan, Wyoming in April of 2005. Kendrick Mansion was built by former Gov. and U.S. Sen. John B. Kendrick between 1908 and 1913. Today, Trail End State Historic Site is operated by the State Parks and Historic Places Division of the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources. Sitting atop a foundation of Montana-quarried granite, the mansion has almost 14,000 square feet of living space and 30 rooms spread over three floors.
The purpose of the consulting work was to determine the most appropriate product for removing the graffiti from the brick and limestone on the building. The graffiti was applied with an orange spray paint. Recommendations for graffiti removal were provided based on the results of the job-site testing.
