Conditions assessment
Our on-site evaluation documents existing conditions of building materials. The report of our evaluation includes photographs and descriptions of conditions. In addition, the report identifies possible sources of deterioration.
Field testing
Field testing includes the on-site evaluation of cleaning materials and procedures and the application of protective treatments. Rilem tube tests are used to measure water absorption before and after treatment.
Specifications
Using CSI format, specification sections are developed following field assessment of conditions and field and laboratory testing.
Training
AMT Labs provides classroom and hands-on training for architects, engineers, contractors, building owners and managers and students. Recent workshop topics include cleaning materials and methods, protective treatments, deterioration mechanisms, and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Preservation.
Maintenance programs
Developed for new and existing buildings, maintenance programs include schedules for cleaning, monitoring conditions and renewing protective treatments. Information regarding appropriate materials and procedures is included.
Problem solving
AMT investigates premature weathering and other problems related to building materials. AMT Labs provides assistance in determining sources of deterioration as well as appropriate strategies for resolving problems.
